HP Enhanced Implementation Service for SANs provides implementation of your Storage Area Network (SAN). HP offers three service levels based on the size and complexity of your SAN environment. The service covers a comprehensive complement of technologies including Fibre Channel (FC), Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCOE), Fibre Channel over IP (FCIP), FICON (Fibre Channel for HP XP Storage Array-based mainframe storage), iSCSI, or HP BladeSystem FC or Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) switches and associated devices. This service implements a new single- or dual-fabric SAN or extends an existing SAN. This service does not include configuration of arrays or storage devices which are covered by their own corresponding deployment services. Level 1: For small SAN environments of up to 48 physically present and available ports located in a single physical location or any HP BladeSystem switch implementation within the BladeSystem enclosure. Level 2: For more complex SAN environments of up to 624 physically present and available ports located within a single physical location or multiple locations within 100 miles of each other. The SAN may have either a homogeneous or heterogeneous OS environment. Level 3: For complex SAN environments of more than 624 physically present and available ports, multiple locations more than 100 miles apart, SANs too complex to fit into level 1 or 2, SANs that include fabric-based encryption or requirements for integration into SAN or IT management applications such as DCFM, Cisco Fabric Manager, HP OpenView Operations Manager, Tivoli, or CA Unicenter. A SAN Host Connection "only" Option is available as part of this service. This standalone tier provides solely for the incremental connection of hosts into an existing SAN and not for creating a new or extending the fabric of an existing SAN.
